I ran some numbers… a single shark goes through 30,000 teeth over a ten year period. So let’s say there are 100,000 sharks.
Every ten years, the number of shark teeth that fall out is: 3 billion. In 100 years that would be 10x, or 30 billion, teeth. And there are about 400 different species of shark.
So it’s not really that much of an exaggeration when they say the ocean floor is covered in shark teeth.

ちょっと計算してみたんですが、サメの歯って１０年間で３万本くらい
生え替わるんです。そんなサメが１０万匹いたとしたら？
１０年間に捨てられる歯の総数は…３０億本。
１００年間ではその１０倍の３００億本で、サメの種類は
４００くらいあるから…。
海の底はサメの歯だらけと言われるのもけっして大げさな話じゃないんですよ。
