One of our end of the year rituals is a big house cleaning. I was organizing some photo albums and I came across the most surprising picture of my mom from her school days. She had a perm and wore this ridiculously long skirt.
“Were you a punk,” I asked her.
“Eh, it’s just what was in style,” she lied.
Later I found a knife with her maiden name carved into the handle, but she insists it was used for flower arranging.

ごまかされた。さらに、母の旧姓が彫られたドスも出てきたが、
「活け花の道具だ」と言い張っている。
