The goal of stop motion animation is to give the impression of an action or movement. If you depict something like romantic passion through the movement of a stop motion figure you can convey a frightening sexuality. Japanese bunraku puppet theater is like that too. In some ways it’s possible to get emotionally deep performances through stop motion that no human performer could ever achieve.
